However, they're also describing what we might call our brand. So, my question is: if you're not creating your brand, who will? The truth is, you do have a brand, whether you know it or like it.

5. The brand is about the people

Digital or not, branding was, is, and always will be about people. As we've discussed, a brand is much more than a logo or colors. A brand is about the entire experience consumers have, their perceptions, and their expectations. We can talk about numbers, metrics, design, psychology, identity, positioning, market, and so on. However, ultimately, a brand is a tool that allows us to create relationships between ourselves and our consumers. Brands can even help us build communities.

6. Creating a brand is difficult

For now, this is something we already know. However, it's so important that it's worth saying out loud. Building and maintaining a strong, healthy brand is very difficult. And it's very easy to make mistakes. Some of these mistakes can set us back many steps. Some can even take us right back to square one.

There would be no companies or brands without people. Branding was, is, and always will be about people. What if we started thinking about branding as a way to build relationships with people? What if we focused on creating brands that people can be proud to use, talk about, promote, and support? Sure, it will be difficult. However, it will be worth the effort.
